I think this card hasn't been mentioned in this thread - Quickshot PCMCIA Game Port card

interesting to see it say compatible up to 200mhz right on the sticker. that's the first time i've seen an "expiry date" given on hardware, so to speak. imagine if a voodoo1 said on the box that it may not work correctly once you've upgraded your computer in a couple years?
Quick pcmcia sound card question, I have an audigy 2 zs pcmcia. But it’s missing the cable. Any idea if there are compatible cables that could be used or where to find an original?
This seemed like a good place to find an expert on the subject. Hope the thread doesn’t mind 😀

Here is one for sale https://www.ebay.com/itm/285763790210?itmmeta … ABk9SR9rF6teTZA
Although you still can use your card without the cable for stereo in/out and optical output.

Holy crap.

You rock! Thanks!
Where to hell do you guys find those things? It feels like the only way would be to go to Computer Reset, but I am on the other side of the planet.
PCMCIA sound cards have always been rare, even over 10 years ago. They were niche when they came out and most probably got thrown out.
I've had a WAVjammer for years and still have yet to get a matching dongle. I have another mystery IBM sound card without a dongle.
So I had an idea,
Do you guys think this would work.
Can I install that audigy 2 zs card on an all ISA 386-486 system with a 16-bit ISA card adapter?

The ones I listed in the first post have all been found on Yahoo auctions, exept maybe the IBM 3d card.
I had a quick look right now and couldn't find any for sale.

It's a 32bit Cardbus card, it won't work.
And it has no drivers support below Windows XP anyway...

Didn’t realize that there were different card busses back then, so there were 16 and 32? Could you plug them into one another? Would a 16 work in a 32? But not the other way around?
I thought pcmcia was just IDE in a slot? Is that not right?
Oh, so the pcmcia 2zs needs a different driver than the pci 2zs? Gotcha.

16bit and 32bit, based on the ISA and PCI bus.
16bit cards will work in a Cardbus slots, 32bit cards won't fit in a 16bit slot.
Then comes ExpressCard, there are adapters for ExpressCard cards to Cardbus for adventurous people.
There are some 16bit/32bit cards with a little dipswitch on them to change the mode, I know a few scsi and ide/pata cards that have this.
Yeah, the Notebook ZS card has different drivers than the PCI ones.
I compared the Roland SCP-55 and Casio GZ-50M playing Wolfmidi set, in my opinion the Roland sounds a bit muffled, although perhaps these midis just don't suit it. Compare by yourself.

Cool, I'm glad you got it. Wonder what you use it for. EAX games?

BTW, does your SCP-55 work in the actual modded game Wolfmidi? AFAIR I couldn't get it working there.
And the Casio GZ-50M has a PCMCIA version too, which is Casio WP-150 card (part of SZ-150W set). A very rare one, never seen any for sale.

No, sorry, I think problem with SCP-55 sitting at 370 port, instead of 330.

In 2001 MIDI Performance test was conducted. The Roland SCP-55 was the best performer by a slight margin. These results show that jitter and latency performance of newer (USB-based) interfaces is actually two to three times worse than older MIDI interface technologies

It can be set up to sit on 330 actually. But still doesn't work in Wolfmidi
