i'm trying to install comanche 3 using DOSBox. I mount everything and try to run install.exe. And it says:
insufficient extended memory to run program
Could not continue: file not found: setup.exe
i hope someone can help me.
thanks

Read my 60 Seconds Guide to DOSBox (and don't just read it - follow it too).

If that doesn't help, come back with details on how you mounted your C and D drives, how you did the install, how you configured sound, music etc.

A 733MHz P3 is waaay too slow to run Comanche 3 at a reasonable speed in DOSBox (it can hardly keep up with the game outside of DOSBox).

Before starting the game, try the following commands from the DOSBox prompt:

C:\> cycles max
C:\> core dynamic

At least if you want to use a full-pc emulator as dosbox.
Try vmware/virtualbox/vpc or whatever, good luck.

Try using just one of the commands then and see if the lines and numbers come back.

"Comanche Gold" works under XP, I played it a few months back. It even has more missions than "Comanche 3", so it's a good deal if you can find it.
