Cool! What's about the WaveROM? I don't see any mention of it in the datasheet, nor there is any dicrete on the PCB.

VLSI Solution is another company than VLSI Technology. Philips acquired the latter one in 1999 and it survives as NXP Semiconductors.

A bit of mixed results with this chip, nevertheless it is interesting :
Some tracks sound good, others sound terrible.

The recording for Monkey Island 2 is pretty bad compared to MT-32 but whatevs... I probably have some others that sound just as bad.

What would be really cool is an OPL4 based card. There is a seller on eBay that sells the OPL4 chips but I haven't checked for them anywhere else.
