Hello!
I would like to buy "new" VGA card for my new retro rig and I have chosen S3 Virge DX/GX (compatibility, availability, affordability). I've found seller who has one Virge 325 with 4MB RAM (4 soldered and 4 socketed chips) and one Virge 375 with 2MB RAM (4 soldered chips + 4 empty sockets). Is it possible to move socketed chips from 325 to 375? They should run on different frequencies so I am not sure what would happened...
If it is not possible, which one would you choose? I have Cirrus Logic 5436 w/ 2MB RAM so I am not sure if buying another 2MB card is not a waste of money (I want 4MB for better resoulutions and color in Win95/98). On the other hand, Virge DX should be faster than CL...

This is my first DOS computer (C64, Amiga 1200 and then straight to Win98SE), so I am sorry, if I ask like noob 😉

Just make sure you turn them correctly - look for pin 1 mark.

Yeah, I also hope I'll pull them out undamaged 😁
