The "Multimedia" 2155A series has a case indicating such and the OEM drives were made by Panasonic and used the MKE/Panasonic interface on the included Sound Blaster 16. Those machines are detailed below.

Yes, details are conflicting since my motherboard has an on-board Tseng et4000 graphics and is all ISA riser board.
I don't know if this media kit was added later or by IBM. I will have to look closer at the part numbers.
Mine also has a CDROM bay. Sound blaster 16's began manufacture in 1993 and my IBM is manufacture date June 5 1993.
Could it be a late 1993 model revision which was then implemented in the 1994 model with VLB bus ?
I think you are right. I think the original owner added the Sound blaster card and cdrom.

I am going to replace that CDROM player because it does not fit correctly. The door is to BIG for the case opening and gets jammed.
I am also going to add an Intel Overdrive CPU and more Cache modules Maxing out this PS/1
I am going to keep the Sound Blaster 16 as it is period correct.

Finished updating my IBM PS/1 with Overdrive CPU and NEW CDROM drive.
These PS/1's are the Cadillac of 486 computers.

I like this computer so much that I purchased another IBM PS/1 Essentials with 486dx2-33. Added CDROM and Sound Blaster 16 and IBM 1994 Multimedia build image.
Just like the original. Works great like a Cadillac.

I don’t know why but I just like playing old music CD’s in these old 486 computers.
And playing old multimedia CD’s and games.

I don't think you need the kit. Just get a Matsushita CR 563B CD-ROM drive and an SB card with MKE interface like CT 2230. I would guess those parts are identical to whatever was in the PS/1 kit...at best the CD-ROM drive may have had a custom bezel to colour match the chassis.

Exist a version with Vesa Local Bus ora only PC330 has? IBM models are a nightmare to find correct models/spec.

Yes, I’ve been looking for a PS/1 with VLB slot but after researching it you don’t need a VLB slot because IBM but really good graphics chips in these PS/1’s . All you can put in a VLB slot is a graphics card or IDE controller. And there are NO open bays for more IDE drives. It already has built in 32-bit IDE bus.

not really undertand, you means tht integrated graphic and ide controller are better than external vlbus one???

Well, many IBM PS/1's came with either a Tseng ET4000 or Cirrus Logic 5424, or Cirrus logic 5426 or 5428.
Which are pretty good graphics chips for there time.
The Cirrus logic 5429 being at the top of the VLB card choices.
The IBM 330 486 computer came with a Cirrus Logic 5430 which is also available on PCI cards.
