Hey all! I have made a soundfont (again 🤣).

For a long time i really wished a soundfont version of the Creative Wave Blaster 1 (With the Proteus Sound Engine set) existed. Well, i didn't. And sometimes if you really want something, you have to make it yourself. So i did! I have spent DAYS sampling and building. But IMHO the result sounds great 😀 Of course it's not perfect, it can be a little noisy and the looping isn't 100% on every instrument, but i'm very satisfied. DO keep in mind that this soundfont contains only the MELODIC presets. I have included the standard drumset from the AWE32 soundfont. I will make a version 2 soon with the WB drums 😀

Download links:
Old version one with AWE32 drumset: https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=2 ... file%2csf2

Version two with authentic Wave Blaster drumkit: https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=2 ... file%2csf2

"Wave Blaster Archive", new version with much better quality: http://1drv.ms/u/s!Ap-0SHCYq2AljA-sG1e4WBtrd989

Yeah, going to try this later!

So, just gave this a try with Azrael's Tear. It does sound pretty faithful, considering that the drumset is from the AWE32 1MB ROM. Can't wait for the final version, this is some really nice stuff 😉.

thanks. Going to download this, but first I have to change browsers for that because KS web access (the web browser I normally use) is unsupported.
btw, could you post a dropbox link for it as well, for the few who can't use onedrive?

A little bump: I am redoing my Wave Blaster Soundfont using beter sampling techniques. It may take a while, but it's going to sound much closer to the real deal!
I expect it to be completed this week.

That's good news.

Any chance that you can make a version 1 (*.sbk) soundfont as well?
One can then (for real mode DOS games) load the soundfont via Aweutil and then have authentic Wave Blaster 1 MIDI sounds.

How difficult is it to convert a version 2.x soundfont to a version 1 soundfont?

Has anyone dumped ROMs so that you don't have to record the sounds?

I have no idea how to dump them or how to use them when they are dumped 😵

As promised i have re-recorded my entire soundfont. I have used much more samples and recorded those with much better methods.
Sorry it took so long, my line-in was acting a little weird. Turns out it was some windows setting...

Because i used much more samples the soundfont is also much larger (1.59 GB). I'm sorry about that, but i really want this to be able to replace the hardware. Since the card is pretty rare these days, i want to archive these pretty sounds in a soundfount. For this reason, and to make it stand out from my original uploads, i call this new version:
Wave Blaster Archive

You can download it here: http://1drv.ms/u/s!Ap-0SHCYq2AljA-sG1e4WBtrd989

Well, even if i COULD convert it, the newest version is a massive 1.59 gb 🤣 IIRC even the old version (Which was 46.6 mb) is too big for the AWE.
