Stay strong Kris. I don't know in what predicament you're in, but stay strong!

OK... so without getting too personal, things had degenerated last night between myself and those who've been helping me out in ways I didn't even begin to consider because it was difficult to know who was right and who was wrong, even from my own standpoint. The situation was never about money, but time, trust, and consideration, and it seems the "facts" as everyone was interpreting them were different amongst us all.

If that seems vague it's because the last thing I want to do is hurt the ones I love, which I WILL end up inadvertently doing if I delve into the details just from the nature of those details. Suffice to say, for awhile last night, things looked extremely grim and I rapidly made the post about potentially being homeless for a week because at the time, no other immediate future seemed possible and it would only be a matter of hours before I would be without internet access... I had to say something ASAP while I still could...

For the moment though, tempers have calmed and everyone's had time to think about everything and while the situation is substantially better, it's not perfect. I'm not going to be homeless, but to help make things easier for all involved I am going to be out of the city for a few days visiting relatives, which means I'll be unable to attend my usual ADG duties... I'm also STILL going to be without internet access for a couple days or so starting later next week as my father and I move into a new place.

So, to that end, here's what you guys need to expect. Episode 161 of Ancient DOS Games will be going live either Tuesday, May 5th, or Wednesday May 6th, I'm uncertain which but it will definitely be one of those two days. Episode 162 will be exactly one week later, so expect it Tuesday, May 12th, or Wednesday May 13th. Following that, I will try to have Episode 163 up on time, meaning it would be up on Saturday, May 16th. This scheduling will put my time without internet access between Episodes 161 and 162 so as to eliminate any more unexpected delays.

I guess what it ultimately comes down to is that, just like everyone else, I'm only Human, and we Humans run into all sorts of ridiculousness. The good news though is that, short of a catastrophe, there's little which could go wrong following the move coming up at the end of next week, so as long as I make it that far, the only direction I can go is up! :)

Good to see that cooler heads prevailed and your situation has improved for the better Kris. And yes, those close to you can suddenly become a real pain when you least expect it.

Believe me when I tell you, I didn't choose my sig at random.

There's been a nasty feud going on between 3 family members for a few years now, and it's not showing signs of reconciliation anytime soon. I have tried to unsuccessfully mediate things; different beliefs, ideals, and plain stubbornness constantly get in the way. Unless a miracle happens soon, me and my father will have to move out and live elsewhere - the constantly tense, hostile, unfriendly atmosphere is almost too much for us to take 🙁

Urk... OK, I thought maybe you were just being funny for sake of making things feel more positive, but the coincidence there is crazy and I hope what you're going through turns out well in the long run.

I was homeless in Ontario for a while... Very unpleasant period of my life.

I had a financial dispute with my father's brother after my father passed away. There was litigation involved and I prevailed but at the cost of permanently alienating my uncle and his family. If I am ever asked if it was worth it, I would quote a line from my father's favorite film "$10,000 [in gold] cuts an awful lot of family ties."

Again, I'm not going to go into personal details, but everything which happened was born out of a misunderstanding of the highest calibre and while things are "better" now, there's still a strong desire amongst all involved for my father and myself to move out ASAP, which at present would be on Thursday, May 7th so long as our paperwork goes through without issue and everything else goes according to plan.

If the misunderstanding didn't sort itself out, Dad and I would've spent the time since I initially started this thread through the end of May 6th without a place to live, not because of a lack of money, but because of the inability to find a place to live even faster.

I hope everything works out for you. Best to find something in the summer rather than being forced to search for a place in the winter where you live.

Families very often do not get along. My family hates my inlaws and vice versa. I keep them apart now and spend time with them separately.

Been there and being homeless on and off a few times is no fun neither is a broken family. Generational problems are the worst, unforgivness and overall bitterness will wreck families almost totally.

Well, as it stands, I just got back an hour ago from my visit with relatives. Before my father and I left the city we found out our paperwork went through perfectly fine. Our move is on Thursday, though tomorrow we have to finalize a few details such as moving time and insurance credentials and such.

Also, got most of the work done on my next ADG episode before I left so the new episode should be up in about 4 to 6 hours. Will also have all embeds on my website updated to access YouTube instead of Blip when I make the next upload. :B
