I believe I have a program that mount .iso files on my Win98SE tower but that it broke upon my last reinstall of Windows. I'm looking for a name and, if necessary, an URL of such so I can find or reinstall it.

You're right, but I believe I still have it on my computer. It's busy compressing a Zip disk right now, so I'd better wait.

I found a version on one of my flash drives while transferring files to it, but, when I tried to install it, it said there's a driver conflict. I was using the defaults for these options. Apparently, it was already installed. However, when I right-click an .iso file, the only useful option was Open With. 🙁 What do I need to do to finish installing it?

When I double-click on the Daemon Tools icon on my desktop, I get an error message referring to "C:\Windows\daemon.dll." I'm wondering if replacing this file will help, but I've been unsuccessful in reinstalling Daemon Tools. How do I replace that file?

You just recently deleted c:\windows, didn't you?

Umm...yes. The system was running into Exception oE errors, and I tried to reinstall Windows. In the end, it helped only slightly: the error appeared less often. Unfortunately, I'm now getting a VFAT Device Initialization Failed error. 🙁 First, I was wondering why DOS applications stopped running in Windows mode again. I rebooted in DOS mode using the F8 menu and typed MEM and found too little memory. 🙁 I disabled the "dblspace" option in MSDOS.SYS and rebooted. I forgot what happened next, but I then disabled the line in autoexec.bat that loads the RAM drive and got system crashes. Reenabling the line caused the mentioned error.

If you deleted C:\Windows, can you understand why any applications installed in other directories may be complaining about files missing under c:\windows?

Umm...yes. I just wanted to see if I can replace that file and, if necessary, other files.

Btw, If all you need is to be able to browse the ISO and extract some files...

I do that all the time with: 7zip

I have 7Zip. Apparently, I need to set a file association. 😀 BTW, I also want to mount an .iso file as a virtual CD. I believe I may have other software on the computer that can do the job, but as I mentioned, the computer broke badly. I don't want to reinstall Windows again, so I'm looking for another way to fix its current problem.

Why didn't you just download and install the copy I linked?

If you mean about Daemon Tools, I tried a copy I had, but there was a driver conflict error. I think the copy to which you linked would result in the same. I tried to reinstall Windows, and now, during the boot process, the system spontaneously restarts. 🙁

I don't know why, but it got past there now. Now, I have another problem: I was reinstalling Windows at the time, and now, I'm getting the exception error while it's installing the hardware. 🙁
