Matrox Millennium cards are not meant for gaming (weak 3D without texturing) they are for proffesional work. I appreciate drivers for 3D Studio, AutoCAD, Microstation...

Ok, that's basically my assessment: Professional cards with no real use to a guy like me regardless of memory.
I'll just consider the card a somewhat interesting oddity in my collection hoard then.
Thanks! 👍

Millennium II has texturing though.

Ok, Millennium 1 hasn't, Mil.2 has but another features like alpha blending, bilinear filtering was still missing. Here are some pictures of 3D games on Matrox...

While writing the Amiga driver for the Matrox PCI cards, I came across the ultimate answer to this: The Millennium II cannot address memory beyond 8MB as framebuffer. So there is no way this gets you additional resolutions. Anything above 8MB is offscreen Bitmaps or textures for 3D.

ok, I'm happy with 1600*1200/truecolor desktop.
Do you have any datasheet or programmer's manual for Millennium chip? Or you ported from Linux?

Have the Manuals. The highest resolutions the Chip can actually do are 1920x1440x16 and 1920x1200x24. However, at least my Windows driver does not offer any 16:9 resolutions. Also, on my cards there is a notable degradation in Signal Quality compared to power resolutions.

Where can be found the programming manual? Could you upload it somewhere?

Not a programming manual, but I have this, section 4.2.1 describes the memory organization.
