Bought this motherboard today for 8.99.- euro. Did not found manual for this, but found bios file with Celeron D support.

I hope that 4xAGP and 2xAGP will work.

Maybe this motherboard can crossflashed if the maker of the motherboard is someone else, not Canyon made, have not heard of them much. 😀

This is the warmest I can get.. https://theretroweb.com/motherboards/s/biosta … u8668-d-rev-5-a

edit:
oh there 's a ton of revisions maybe this closer... https://theretroweb.com/motherboards/s/biosta … -rev-7-8-and-up

P4M266A-8235-6A6LW00HC-00 code is the same so should be perfect fit, thank you.

2xagp should also work.

Found a Midiman for 40€. Its in good condition but lacking the breakout cable, not much of a challenge to make new ones.

I have been chasing MS 6163 Master Pro with SC1153CSW VRM 8.4support for some time. Previous one I bought was with broken chipset - unrepairable.
This one was combo with Coppermine slotket. Got it from local auction site after some price war...
...was sold as is but it is working. Needs some Caps replacement however...

MB might even support Tualatin with 1.3VCore support although quick googling did not reveal any ready made BIOS with Tualatin microcode and multiplier support.

Huh, same board as mine 😀

Finished recapping, as well as assessing the Voodoos. Out of them, only the Banshee managed to work and that wasn't until I resoldered two SGRAM chips completely by hand.

I have been playing around with it (2 posts above). Did partial recap with spare ones.
I went for usual place for updates https://theretroweb.com/motherboards/s/msi-ms-6163-v2.0-bx13
Well well. I think I need to correct them because it suggests that Coppermine is not supported. My 1.65V SL47S (866/133Mhz) runs just fine although autodetect assigned 100FSB that's why you see 650Mhz on pic.
However with manual configuration it also runs at 866.

I wonder if MSI BIOS-es can be edited manually by inserting microcode for proper CPU support, like with Asus boards? I have Asus P3B-F with modified one, but I downloaded it. Never done it myself.

My experiences with 6163 and 133FSB weren't pleasant, at least on VER 1.

I'm waiting on a package from a fellow VOGONS user that also has a slotket - I have both a 733 and a 866 chip to test.

Well I have been probably spoiled on rock solid Asus P3B-F 133Mhz performance. Kind of thought if it's 440BX platform then no worries regardless of manufacturer. Anyways I will draw my conclusion when I manage to do full recapping. So far with my 6163 v2 I have done only DOS testing..

I almost bought these AT cases, does that count ? 🥹

I mean, just LOOK at them - a totally silly uncomprehensible amount of slots on the back, never mind the endless row of serial cut-outs on the right side !

Though I cannot really see what I will be using them for (I'd much rather have a desktop version), and replacing that monster PSU with a modern one seems like an 'impossible' task.
And I don't see myself putting any ATX board in here (how?!).

But at least they are fun to look at! Even though 1 is missing the front door.

if you dont go and buy those cases....

this motherboard will fit just fine - https://www.ebay.com/itm/204958712739

So THIS is what is supposed to go in there, oh - I see ! 😁 Makes more sense, given all those slots!
I assumed it was supposed to be a 486 or early Pentium board, but here we have Pentium II ?😲

PS: + OH! it takes TWO CPUs as well ?!
Heh, must have been a real monster back then (1998? + AT ?? 🤔😱)

The Asus P65up8 is also a prime candidate for that case: Bitchin' dual p-pro setup

A younger me would have snagged those server tower cases lickety-split. I have a thing for frosted doors. The PSU isn't a problem with a little know-how.

bestemor wrote on 2024-10-15, 22:43:

Heh, I sense some strong desires to upgrade that utterly inferior and cramped case of yours ? 🤣

Luckybob has one of the sexiest rolling server cases on the planet from the Pentium Pro Haul of 2018. I've been asking him to post photos of it. It's similar to those above, but I think with even better looks. It's also absolutely unused and in mint shape.

Finally got a working Radeon 9800 PRO AIW. After about 3 or 4 having memory issues when tested... 🙁 But that's all in the past now, Whoot!

This was the last one I needed for the AIW AGP collection. Feels good! 😊

I wanted to have each AIW card, with it's corresponding best non AIW card, for each gen.

Thats awesome! I am not into AIW a lot but I think for Ati they were their best products. Especially the early ones were game changing. You need a red led strip! And a green one if you have a similar shelf for Nvidias! 😁

And congrats for the 9800!

Coincidentally, I've made photos too. Here's my most recent purchases. From left to right, top to bottom.

- Inno3D Geforce 2 Ti-Ultra with custom heatsink taken from another card... unfortunately that turned out noisy too.
- Gigabyte GTX 295 Dual PCB - Working
- XFX GTX 7800 - Working
- Creative Geforce 2 Mx with Daughter board and DVI - Working
- X1950XT Sapphire - Working
- 9600 Pro Palit - Working
- Leadtek GTX 295 Single PCB - Unsure. The heatsink seems incorrectly installed
- Asus 3870x2 - Unsure, but probably dead. A screw holding the backplate is missing.
- FX5700 POW - Working
- Ti4200 Creative - Working
- Sapphire 3850 AGP - Working
- Powercolor 2900XT 1gb - Not working 🙁
- Sapphire X850 XT - Working
- 2900XTX fan.
- MSI? GF4 MX 440 - Working
- Sapphire 4850x2 - Working
