I grabbed it one day it was not a 404 (strange) but I am more worried about this for others.
Dosbox ECE still seems to be the best for the 2 games I play. Maybe I am naive and there is a better option but I only use 2 games (Indycar Racing 2 and Grand Prix 2 by microprose). I wonder if the author would be OK with us hosting it somewhere else.

I still use ECE because no other dosbox port supports joystick deadzone in the most simplest and effective way possible as ECE for Wing Commander Privateer, Mech 2 and other sims.

It's hosted on the internet archive, or you could probably just use the wayback machine to just grab it from the ECE site from before it got taken down.

I use it on my XP retro build with a CRT monitor and honestly is all I need, I'm not missing anything. I hope this doesn't fall in oblivion.

Edit:
While archive.org is down, I discovered the links to the builds are missing on the original website, but the files are still hosted there. You can browse them using the wayback machine, that seems to be working again:
https://web.archive.org/web/20211011175017/ht … .net/dosboxece/

Sadly the build files are not archived, but you can use the wayback machine URL to deduce the original download URLs. Like this:
https://yesterplay.net/dosboxece/download/arc … 0ECE%20r4301.7z
https://yesterplay.net/dosboxece/downlo ... (Linux).7z
For instance this is the last version that had the pixel perfect plugin, I'm interested in the opengl vsync feature, and it works like a charm. Other releases can be downloaded just modifying the URL to the right build number.
