There's some old windows games that need the iso mounted for launch, I wonder if there some way to get the image mounted automatically when you launch the game in the shortcut?

i don't want to search for nocd patches, the websites of that are full of viruses...

I use Daemon Tools. It associates images with the program and mounts them automatically when I double click the file. It also works from a batch script:

game.iso
game.exe

Enclose the path in "" when there are spaces in the names.

The websites that host NOCD patches are not full of viruses. They are full of files that AV scanners flags as false positives.

C:\Users\Mats\Desktop\Win 98 - XP Games Shortcuts\Fifa 99.exe

A shortcut is a .lnk file not a .exe file and you shouldn't reference shortcut file in a batch file unless you have a good reason for doing so.

So post what actions you are performing and the contents of your batch file.

🤣 nice catch.

What the heck are you trying to do, Reigner? 😁
Put the batch file in your game's install folder alongside the game executable.
The path should lead to the exe, not a desktop shortcut.
Then you can make a shortcut to the batch script and set your desired icon.
