Which memtest should I download for a retro computer with SDRAM? it haves CD...

Any link will be appreciated, this is a free software.

If it's compatible also with modern computers will be perfect! I mean.. DDR 4 etc...

Maybe current version 7.00 will work?

Thank you.

If the computer has a floppy drive, I prefer to use that for Memtest. Here's 1.70:

The latest memtest86+ (https://memtest.org/) does not offer floppy image to download in latest version.
If you want to use the latest v7.0, you had to build the floppy image from the source yourself (need a linux machine)
I'm using the memtest86+ v6 and it working fine on the pentium 3 machine.

for the old machine, you will need the 32bit iso image
for the newer 64-bit machine, i guess you will want to use the 64bit iso image build.

For later machines the Ultimate Boot CD includes Memtest, and many other utilities. I don't usually recommend it here because I believe the minimum memory is four gigabytes, which puts it well over what most vintage computers have.

what do you mean with minimum of four gigabytes?

does not work on a pentium cpu with 256 mb ram for example?

In the 32 bit ISO file for 7.0 is a floppy image. It works perfectly fine on more modern machines (Pentium and later). For older machines you need an older version of Memtest.

I think it was the version of Clonezilla that I was trying to use where I discovered that it will only load on machines with a minimum of four gigabytes of RAM. I honestly don't know if that will be an issue with the version of Memtest it includes.
