Fello VOGONS im looking for some help to find a game that I think is Ghosts n Goblins but Im not 100% sure.

I remember back in the early to mid 1980s. Not sure on the date but i think early 80s but it might have been later. there was an arcade game that looked like Super Ghouls N ghosts but I know that was on the SNES because I play it on ZSNES, which places in in the early 90s not the early 80s.

I know Ghosts n goblins and super ghouls n ghosts is part of a series of games all along the same lines as each other...
So Im looking for help to find the version that would have been used on the arcade game that were used in stores and games arcades.

Any kind of input or help would be appreciated.

Super Ghouls and Ghosts.

Its the super-famicom / SNES version of Ghosts and Goblins.

The NES version (and the version from the Arcade as well) is indeed, Ghosts and Goblins.

Arcade cabinet, for those into that kind of thing.

Demon's Crest is the sequel to Gargoyle's quest, that takes place in the "Same game universe" as Ghosts and Goblins / Ghouls and Ghosts.

It has nothing to do with Arthur and Prin-Prin. It focuses exclusively on Firebrand, the lesser demon.

and

respectively.

No Gargoyles quest. I remember playing that on the Gameboy.
Not that Demons Crest either.

Super Ghouls n ghosts has the right idea but its not the right look I remember.

There were pots with weapons in them.
I only ever remember seeing the first level, there were some kind of monsters walking at you trying to kill you. There was a weapon that was a pot you threw with fire in it.
I know thats a weapon in the SNES version of the game but the one im looking for had better looking graphics.

It's late 80s.

Its really close. But I remember always getting stuck trying to get past a part where there was a hill or platform with a wooden ladder up to the top of it early on in the game.

Maybe you're blurring the Genesis/Mega Drive Ghouls 'n Ghosts (possibly being played in Genecyst), which was a very early MD title and considered one of the big early 16-bit ports. Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts diverges a lot to show off the SNES.

So apart from the NES what consoles had Ghosts n Goblins and can be run on a PC emulator?

Amiga had a Ghosts 'n Goblins which probably could be UAE'd. Master System also had a Ghouls 'n Ghosts which could probably be MEKA'd. The rest of the early ports tend to be more PAL market microcomputery.

Everything made in the 1980’s had it including Amiga and C64.

Better looking would be arcade, NES was common but not better looking, unless you were in Japan or playing the actual arcade SNES and Genesis were the best looking variations.

I was looking to see if a CPS2 version existed or not, but came up empty.

The SNES super ghouls and ghosts is the prettiest looking I think.

Thanks for all the input guys.

I think it must have been the arcade version of Ghosts n Goblins. Its in the right age range and looks pretty much like I remember, and having watched it on youtube some of the zombies do drop pots when they die even if theyre not carrying them.
