But if you arent after aesthetics and just want a working mouse and already have one serial port available in your computer then $10 will get you there without dedicated card:

P.S. I'm interested in this project. I have plenty of rigs that cannot handle ps2 and plan to use a KVM switch. Do you know if this ps2 converter would work with an ATEN KVM switch? I need at least 8 PCB-s, SMD is not a problem. I'm in Hungary, so sending the final products to Europe should not cost more than 10 EUR. Does anyone care to join me, and share the gerbers, bom, and firmware?

Don't think this project is open source so no gerber/firmware etc are available as far as I know. I believe because of sanctions for Russia it's not available atm.
This is working great with an ATEN KVM as I have several myself (and would like more 😀). Do not buy a replacement like the PS2TOSERIAL from Serdashop. It does not work and no replies/help for this issue are given on this forum when I posted about it in that dedicated topic.

Hi everybody,
I'm motivated to build a small batch of these cards if others are still interested and can loan their individual expertise. I can assemble the boards and fabricate the brackets if needed. I have limited experience flashing chips, but could probably figure it out if need be. I don't have the firmware. I'm a noob still and don't think I have the ability to ask Rio444 for his firmware.
I know There are a lot of other DIY solutions available but Rio444's is certainly the most elegant and, from what I've read, works the best.
I may end up building some necroware adapters too, but I still think a straight ISA card is cooler 😀
