Is there a way to read in MS-Dos which bios version is on an S3 Virge DX / GX and at how many MHz the memory and the gpu are running? Is there a program to do that?

I have 4 different s3 Vrige DX cards and 1 S3 Virge GX and would like to know how fast they are and what bios version they have.

GPU speed will be zero because its not a GPU 😀 Afaik all Virge run ram synchronously, and you should be able to read clock from the BIOS. You should also consider type of memory on board.

No matter which software you use, you can only get basic information about the model and BIOS version. Like @rasz_pl mentioned for memory type and speed you have to search the part number of the RAM chips.

This program is for changing the memory parameters on a bunch of S3 and Cirrus Logic chips.

Just to let you know, you may have trouble finding reliable chips. I bought some 4 years ago and almost all of them were wonky.

No, Virge GX/GX2 have chip/memory dividers.

I must be some kind of standard: the anonymous gangbanger of the 21st century.
