You'll want to test your memory bandwidth with the motherboard's cache enabled and disabled once you have the K6-2+. With my TXP4 and a K6-2+ modified into a K6-3+ the memory bandwidth is significantly better with the motherboard's cache disabled.

Edit: Speedsys also shows that the system has better performance with the motherboard's cache disabled when combined with a K6-3+

A Radeon 9200 should also work.

But I have no more money for GPU for now so I guess Radeon 7500 will do? And thanks for advices @Repo Mann11. 😁

^yes indeed!

Socket 5/7 systems can go either way, but most super socket 7 systems are better with it enabled.

Did you try it in another motherboard? (The 7500) like a pentium 2/3 setup or something?

Radeon 7500 works on Asrock K8NF4G-SATA2 but installation of Windows XP is stuck at 'finalizing installation', stuck but not freezed. And sure, I can do benchmarks, where to safely download this partucular version? 😀

I can make pics but still, I need to verify if that works or not. And Socket 7 PC doesn't beep like no GPU present but doesn't show any picture and TV doesn't show no signal detected.

For clearance I'm testing on nforce WinXP mobo that allows me to choose Integra/PCI/PCI-E, without drivers all ports work and no glitches/artifacts, after drivers, supposedly wrong ones black screen.

Edit: I removed heatsing and darn... this crap is Radeon Mobility 7500 and I cannot find compatible drivers.

Edit: I found compatible drivers however this GPU cannot be set as only GPU only additional.

FX5500 has quite high CPU overhead and I wouldn't pair it with something slower than, let say Pentium III / Celeron / Althon / Duron 800.

On the previous page I posted a 3D Mark 2000 score of 2,843 with a Quadro NVS280 with the 45.23 driver force installed - I've an older FX5500 PCI that has a near identical score on the same system. They are CPU limited (the 64 and 128 bit cards have near identical scores because of this) but they are affordable cards that aren't too difficult to find.

Then time to give up with this board as I have SS7 motherboard from DFI. And unfortunately yes, from chinese seller described as 'new'.

Edit: Ok, I ordered Nvidia Quadro NVS 280 PCI and I think that's it for PCI GPUs in my collection. Fortunately seller includes VGA converter to 2 VGA ports.
