If I can't find the drivers for the laptop itself, I will usually just look up a specifications sheet and search for all the hardware drivers individually. Usually drivers will turn up then. Have you tried this approach yet? I added the specification sheet for your laptop in the attachments. Good luck!

HP's FTP server, assuming you have a browser that can view FTP servers (or use a real FTP client in the first place). ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/
Then you have to navigate the utterly confusing SoftPAQ layout that HP inherited (then adopted!) from Compaq themselves. There is an allfiles.txt from late 2002 that is some help...
There is also https://archive.org/download/ftp.compaq.com, but browsing that is unreliable, so I mirrored it to my home server a few years ago in 2018: http://cwcyrix.duckdns.org/ftp-archives/ftp.c … om/pub/softpaq/

SP4765 is one that has been found; meant for Win95, but may work with Win98. However...

SP6300 - S3 Video Driver for Windows 95/98 - Supersedes SP4765 that was already found.
SP6299 - ESS Audio Drivers for Windows 95/98 - Supersedes SP4764.
SP5749 - Armada 7300/7700 PCMCIA Configuration Update (Windows 95 OSR2)
SP5659 - IDE CD-ROM Driver for Portable Computers (DOS/Windows 3.x)
SP4934 - ESS Audio Drivers (Windows 3.1)
SP4870 - Real Mode Support (Windows 95)

This list is in no way complete; this omits OS/2 and NT4 stuff and most other files for that unit. Also, apparently some Compaq restore CDs are on the Internet Archive, but I would have to scrutinize those first.

As @AmiSapphire has posted above, or if you follow these old archived links (some have newer updates than above) you'll at least get the SoftPAQ filenames to search for, depending on which OS you'll be using...
