I do miss those days for sure... But married life does come with benefits. Otherwise nobody would do it... 😀
Sometimes I wonder why slavery had been abolished, but not marriage. To life of men, it's not much a difference, after all. 🤷♂️
There's a saying that in modern days a lot of men are single, because they hadn't been successfully forced into marriage yet.
Sounds crass, maybe, but I knew old sad men who had been placed in chains by their "goverment" (wife).
They wanted to leave, but had been under pressure by their family to stay.
Children and grandchildren did not want to give up the facade of an idyllic family picture.
Edit: I can't go into details any further, so I'll stop there.
I just want to add that these old men had nolonger been the master of their own home,
their wifes had expanded more and more over years, extending their control. Even into their men's circle of close friends.
A little room, their man cave, was all that had remained to these men.
Of course, freshly married men won't believe these lines. They don't have to, also. Life itself will teach them.
