But a peaceful life and a will of your own.

I do miss those days for sure... But married life does come with benefits. Otherwise nobody would do it... 😀

Sometimes I wonder why slavery had been abolished, but not marriage. To life of men, it's not much a difference, after all. 🤷‍♂️

There's a saying that in modern days a lot of men are single, because they hadn't been successfully forced into marriage yet.

Sounds crass, maybe, but I knew old sad men who had been placed in chains by their "goverment" (wife).
They wanted to leave, but had been under pressure by their family to stay.
Children and grandchildren did not want to give up the facade of an idyllic family picture.

Edit: I can't go into details any further, so I'll stop there.
I just want to add that these old men had nolonger been the master of their own home,
their wifes had expanded more and more over years, extending their control. Even into their men's circle of close friends.
A little room, their man cave, was all that had remained to these men.

Of course, freshly married men won't believe these lines. They don't have to, also. Life itself will teach them.

No fancy lights or posters I’m afraid folks, just me trying to fit too many PCs under a desk.

486 DOS 6.22
Pentium Win95
P II 98SE
P III W2k
P4 XP

Sony multiscan 200ES
Belkin Omniview Pro KVM

…and a 2013 iMac I guess.

(I know it’s really basic having the “LGR speakers” but I swear I had them long before I knew what that was!)

Too many? You can clearly get two more horizontal desktops and a SFF unit on top of the shortarse. 🤣

Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.

This is the computing area for my "Ultimate" gaming PCs. The slim black PC is running Windows XP. Out of view (below) is a Win98 PC. I switch between the two with a KVM. The screen is a 15" 1024x768 LCD. The XP PC dual boots into Linux, and I use that OS for general web browsing and watching videos on youtube. I also use it to play music on Spotify.

I realise that this screen is not considered "Ultimate" but I wanted something small that would fit in this area. These PCs are mostly for use if I want to just quickly play something when having a lunch break (I work from home).
