I need to install a ATI All-in-Wonder Radeon X800 (PCIe).
But first i want to make sure the onboard HD 3200 is working right.

No matter if i use HDMI or DVI->HDMI (adapter) connection i have 2 cm black borders around the screen.
The LCD is a 1080p IPS and the graphics setting is also 1080p.

I did install the latest chipset driver:

I did install only "Display Driver" and "HDMI Audio Driver" and not CCC because i think i need the one that comes with the Radeon X800 drivers?

Somebody knows why i have black borders in XP. That never happened in Win 7, 8 or 10.

There should be an underscan/overscan adjustment option in Catalyst Control Center . At some point, ATI thought it was a good idea to underscan by default .

I did not install CCC.
I never installed a PCIe Radeon on a board with onboard Radeon.

Will the older Radeon work with the CCC from the newer GPU?

I do not remember off the top of my head which ATI cards with which drives under which OSes defaulted to underscan mode, I do know some of them did because I have experienced it.

If you want to test the onboard fully and see whether you can get rid of that underscan, install its drivers completely, including the corresponding Catalyst Control Center and check for the option I mentioned .

After you've done that, you can uninstall its drivers and install the PCI Express X800 card along with all its drivers, including the corresponding Catalyst Control Center .

Why you would think of using the HD 3200 with the X800's Catalyst Control Center, I have no idea, unless maybe if you plan to use both cards at once . But I don't think that would work .

you need to adjust the overscan on the catalyst control panel, sadly it defaults to that in some configurations

So you mean just using the Windows standard drivers for the onboard Radeon?

Yes, assuming that your motherboard BIOS does not automatically disable onboard video when a PCI Express video card is installed, in which case the onboard video card won't be seen be Windows .
