I'm a fairly new user to DosBox, but I was wondering if anything exists in DosBox that can be used to save process scripts.

What I mean by that is, instead of having to type

mount x x:\
ctrl-f12/f8 pressed X amount of times
cd\program
program

The process could be reduced to either a keyword, pull down or even key combinations. Like Ctrl-F12.

Or maybe even create a direct-to-program icon for Windows that lauches the entire program through DosBox?

Is there anything like this? Thanks in advance.

Try editing Dosbox.conf. There you can set amount of cycles at start, and there is an autoexec section where you can put your mounting instructions.

Also, you can copy that file with other names, and start dosbox using an specific config file.

And, of course, there are some frontend that would help you.

The front-end D-fend can make shortcuts you can place right on your desktop that will run the game with specific settings. Very useful.
