Some of you may have noticed this item on eBay, now it is mine:

Seller picture's:

I was all sold out just because is part of the Vectra XU line, but I also noticed this:

Once received I can see I did the right thing 😌

For removing memory sockets? That's a bit ambitious.

A desoldering gun + hot air is going to be the safest and cleanest way to remove things with lots of pins like sockets.

I guess I saw it , but not hundred percent sure 😀 I love this kind of form-factor when you can put CRT on the top

In meantime I acquired these three still sealed. I haven’t unboxed them yet. Radeon and Zalman are gonna be part of my Socket-A based build.

Not sure why I bought the PCI-E sound card though… it was just cheap and sealed. Still I have no application for it. Probably will just leave it sealed.

They're 30 pin. All in a row.
Low melt the whole lot, and push.
Clean

I have done 30 pin back in the day with a Weller "wood burner" and a RadioShack bulb sucker, but I wouldn't fancy trying to clear the 72 pin holes with them.

Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.

A couple of recent pickups.

Very cheap, 24$ + Shipping. GeForce 3 Ti 200 128MB Version ( Thanks Wes1262 for the find!) In perfect condition, overclocks to just above Ti 500 levels! 265/255 Core/Mem! ( Core might go higher, slider maxed out Riva Turner. ) Fantastic card.

And an MSI Ti-4800SE! Only has 3.6ns SGRAM, But overclocks very well from it's basic clocks.of 275/275 it was stable at 335 Core/345Memory! Decently over the Ti-4600/4800 default clocks!

Yes, that's the correct way. Besides, even if I own a desoldering gun and hot air station, I would practice on a dead board first. It doesn't worth the risk. In my opinion, 20MiB is far enough for a 486 build.

Weird that nobody was bidding on that! I suppose it's because the Leadtek cards don't look like the reference counterparts so they are very easy to miss?

Bought these, for a similar HW use, in reality they are chair feet 🪑, but the use I will make of them is different, they will go to the Antec case, of the originals there are only two left, at this point, I replace them all with these, they are made of hard plastic, but they will be fine, I have two alternatives, use the double-sided, or different screws, with a nut 🔩 at the other end.

I just received a K6-2 plus 500 ACZ.

I am a bit anxious to put this on my (almost-super) Socket 7 mobo. I have read here that CPU running at speed over 300 MHz would result in voltage regulators overheating. I don't want to take the risk of damaging my motherboard...

Thanks. My motherboard, a Shuttle HOT-569, can do dual voltage so I probably do not need the device you mentioned, or perhaps I misunderstood what it is meant for.

If your existing vrm is not enough, then that is a viable replacement if you have the header.

This CPU is 18W 16W TDP (@2.0Vcore this is 9A 8A).
So if the board can run a K6-200 or 233 than it should have no probs with it.
Question is if it can run reliably with 83MHz FSB. If not then you may be stuck at 6 x 75MHz = 450MHz, further reducing the power required by the CPU.

Edit: Power values corrected. Looked at the 550MHz-version.

Good advice I'll keep it at 6x75 Mhz = 450 MHz to stay on the safe side. That should already be quite a boost compared to my current CPU (P200 MMX @ 225).

- 8500LE works perfectly. it has one of the strangest configurations I've seen, 275/183.
- Radeon DDR 64mb 183/183, overclocks to 200/200 just fine, works perfectly. By the way Agp4Life, the one with the 06 bios I have was indeed 200/200.
- Geforce FX5700 Gainward works
- Radeon 7500 "LE" works, but it's 64 bits of disappointment
- Mx440 works. Radeon 9000 works.
- Elsa GF3 Gladiac 920 Black Edition............ doesn't work...... of course the one I truly wanted... because the universe clearly hates me.... hopefully one day I'll be able to fix these
- The two voodoos I got I haven't tested yet. Crossing fingers. Like twisting them. Multiple times. Like a rope. Rope fingers.
Overall I am happy. I am a long time 8500 and Ati aficionado so that was good.

Chuck them all in the dishwasher (no soap) and retest the elsa.
