Sure, pick your version of possible, get a million people to pay $30 a chip, get 5000 people to pay $250 a chip, get a dozen guys to remortgage their houses for a dozen chips each... fab setup costs are somewhat huge, that's even if there's any capacity available.

Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.

Looking at their website, they don't even have cases in stock - and they want to sell those and the keyboards separately.

It's a microATX motherboard so it'll fit any standard microATX case.

Something I gotta wonder though - might it have been possible to reverse-engineer the VIC-II chip and make new ones?

Already done, see the VIC-II Kawari (source on GitHub).

An old saying comes to mind - just because you CAN do something doesn't mean you SHOULD

Well you should sometimes do things you enjoy, or your life won't be much fun. Sometimes wonder if I can do some old retro software project, so I try it out, even though it's not of much value to society in general, or in most cases to any other person in the entire world. I guess the 8-Bit Guy has enough money and influence that he can do similar things but with hardware which costs money as well as time!

I am reminded of the number of times I browsed ebay for a commodore 64, but then I am reminded of the reasons why I threw out the two had back in the mid-90s. By that time I was using a DX4/100.

For my taste, his recent videos about solar panels, arcade machines and Commander X16 videospam were just boring, so I skipped them all. But I found the latest video about Atari computers very interesting and I hope he continues to make such videos in the future.
