my current retro pc is a k6-2+ 550 @ 600Mhz, Soyo 5ehm 1.3 1mb cache, 512mb pc133 @ 100 (2x256), voodoo 3 2000 PCI, SB Live

i cannot use the AGP with any VGA, whenever i try to install the drivers in Win xp sp3, it goes black and the computer hangs

i wanted to install a mx400 along side the voodoo to take advantage of the T&L part of the Geforce. Even alone i have the same problems

is there any drivers for the MVP3 i have to install? best configuration on the bios?

im not going back to windows 98, XP is sooo much more stable and in some games i get 25-40% more fps with the voodoo

Have you installed the VIA 4-in-1 driver such as you find here https://theretroweb.com/chipsets/497#driver

Try branching out a little - Windows 2000 has most of the good things about XP but it is a little less demanding on hardware (especially compared to XP SP3).

After watching many YouTube videos about older computer hardware, YouTube began recommending videos about trains - are they trying to tell me something?

Did you reinstall the voodoo driver afterwards? In 98, I had to do that after installing the chipset drivers.

I had this problem once with an Aladdin V board and it was fixed by enabling the option "Assign IRQ for VGA" in Bios.

i was thinking...im using an ATX power supply (deepcool 500watts) with an adapter to convert to AT (the case is AT and the switch too), mainly for reability reasons since the AT PS was the original from 1998.

it does affect the AGP funcionality? i could try to connect the power supply directly and use the reset or turbo button as power

PS: no, the IRQ VGA thing does not make a difference here
