Omg what are the odds, I just 'bought' a Honeywell thing too - except it's yet another pizza box computer that I don't really so much need but...

The attachment 305750219969-1.webp is no longer available

retroweb is such an amazing resource at this point, there's no info for this 'honeywell bull' computer online but the seller posted inside pictures so I can see it looks like a Pentium MMX, LPX motherboard with a via chipset and I was able to determine it's a FIC PA-2003:

The attachment 305750219969-14.webp is no longer available

I'm not sure why they're calling it a honeywell actually, it's only got a bull logo on it but maybe there's a label on it somewhere that wasn't pictured. It's an interesting and pretty small LPX system but why buy another pizza box? It wasn't exactly cheap but I was the only bidder and there's something special hiding inside 😁

I recognised it straight away from the double position memory pads, really hoping this goes through and doesn't get damaged in the post...

BTW, doesn't that mouse need a special mousepad to work?

Wow !
It looks awesome in red !

I have a "Pro 2" (which is for s423... and boring green) and i'm very curious about the differences (other than the socket s478 obviously). I can already see that they kept the weird RAM placement 😁

Found a pair of Yamaha DS2416 with 4 AX44 modules. Excellent snr and bit dept ....for the time.

The attachment DS2416_x2.jpg is no longer available
The attachment AX44.jpg is no longer available

This 2 cards can control 2 AX44 each, and can be daisy chained forming a powerful mixer/recorder. Had a couple of problems on 2 AX modules on linear regulators (7809 and 7805). Easy fix.

Also at the flea market a Nintendo Game Boy CLolor for 20€, plus a Super Mario Bros. Deluxe cartridge.

The attachment GB_Color.jpg is no longer available

Working, but needs a recap .... and maybe an lcd mod.

Bought a socket 7 motherboard on a flea market a couple of days ago. I was hoping that I could use it with my AMD K6, but unfortunately it's too old for that. So now I'm waiting for a Pentium 133 cpu. For as far as I can see the motherboard is fine. No broken traces, no shorts, only some bend pins the I straightened.

I have a very old Socket 7 board as well that wasn't designed for a K6, but it seemed to work fine anyways. Did you try any of the earliest part numbers?

I love thrift stores!

I'll have to re-confrag-urate my XP machine to have a Team Green card, but I cant wait to see if these things work AT ALL.

I got them, thinking they were knock-off 3-pin nvidia ones but this kit seems to use a SVGA dongle and THE CHEAPEAST, CRAPPIEST, TEMU-WOULD-BE-PROUD, sunglasses I have ever laid by dirty dick beaters on. I'll post some pics if the demand is there, but they literally put 2 lcd shutters and hot-glued them inside dollar-store kids sunglasses. They cut so many corners, the damn things are practically round.

I will archive the cd's and manual. I will try to maybe make a video, but I only have so many useful hours in the day before my meds wear off.

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

I got two of these shipped, both new in box, for about the cost to populate one with 16MB RAM by a stroke of luck I likely won't be able to replicate. Both batteries were leaking but the damage was nil on one, and one very thin damaged trace under the battery on the other. CPU speed can be changed by three jumpers all the way down to single digits which is cool.

I can't find this model, "386OCT" anywhere. TRW does have at least one lookalike though.

this you "Great packaging and the best seller I've ever bought from! (Lot-2) DFI, Expansion Board-Personal Computer Enhancement 386OCT/Q, D26650127"?
that would mean your Ebay comment is the only mention of this motherboard on the internet ever 😮

Yeah the web presence of Data Flower and Octek was super light even when they were still in business, so stuff on their boards was always hard to find.

Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.

Yes that's me! That must be my 15 minutes of fame. The seller had no idea what these were and was about to throw them away when I pointed out the batteries were leaking.

Is it really a true R200? I didn't know those came in PCI flavor.

I'm interested if you can share your experience for the glasses. The system, screen, driver versions, games, settings.
I have the ELSA glasses (ELSA 3D Revelator). They work with both the bundled driver (ELSA drivers for GeForce 2) and later nVidia drivers but i found some non-working features (or could not enable them properly)
The adjustments for image separation and depth are not explained and i ended up tweaking blindly the settings.

I found the experience much more enjoyable in driving games (Midtown Madness for example) than 1st person shooters (Like HL, where the HUD appears like floating and requires adjusting your vision to read it)
Also my CRT is probably not fast enough and some flickering was visible.

It sure is! a full blown R200 on the PCI bus. Pretty wild honestly. They seem to be unfortunately pretty hard to find. I missed an opportunity to buy one over 2 years ago and finally another one popped up for sale that I snagged.

Cheers.
