Hello, stoney1981! Thank you for your website and recent patching work. I hope you continue to make more of these patches. There are quite a few old Sierra games that are in dire need of accessible unprotects (let me know if it would be helpful for me to provide you with a complete list -- I have built what is basically a Sierra operating system here, so I know all when it comes to what's lacking for this particular corner of PC gaming).

I hope you don't mind me asking for a bit of tech support, because there's no contact form on your website, but: Your Police Quest 2 patch (for v1.002.011 of the game) does not work. Or rather, it DOES work in terms of getting rid of the opening copy protection screen. BUT, the game immediately hangs when you try to exit the car.

Another stoney1981 patch issue: Your Leisure Suit Larry 2 patch (for game version 1.002.000) causes the game to return a lot of error strings after typed commands. For example, trying to look in the bin behind the market, or look in the hole when you are not close enough.

Hey !

Thanks for your comment, just saw it. I will look into this. You did use the patches with the GOG Version of the Games, correct?

(Just replying here to say we got this handled from back-and-forth on the website. Everybody go get his patches, he's doing some good work!! 😁)

Amazing work Stoney, thank you! Gone straight for Tie fighter and Monkey Island 1.

I personally will go quite far to use a No-CD crack when the advice is always "use daemon tools" or similar, ugh.

Typically i'll just use gamecopyworld/gameburnworld patches, test it out, refine any written instructions if necessary (it's often necessary!), and save any successful patches to my own archive, as well as on a disc inside the game box for future use. This covers quite a range of games from DOS to Vista eras. I suppose I can see there being a time when I'll need to re-upload these somewhere...

As an aside, what I usually have trouble with is "official" No-Disc patches, where an eventual developer update has removed the disc requirement. Never been able to get Worms Armageddon to work without disc on Windows 98, and never been able to get Starcraft to work without disc in Windows 95, despite both having an officially-produced method with detailed instructions.

Nice work. I used to use Universal Neverlock last time.

Though nowadays, I have been archiving all floppy images and CD images of almost all DOS games and using them in 86Box to play them right from the "installation".

And for that "authentic" feel of looking in the manual to enter the in-game copy protection, I have been downloading and archiving all the said DOS games' manuals (including those that are not actually needed to enter the copy protection codes) and using them on a separate 10.3" e-book reader, for that authentic feel of reading the manual and playing the game at the same time.

As for the code wheels, I got them from the huge collection of code wheels from IA.

gamecopyworld?

GameCopyWorld is safe. I've been using this site for years and years, it's a great place for finding old PC game cracks.

i've been using that one for years, also gameburnworld, just noticed that sites giving me "server not found" anyone else have this problem. is it now gone?

GameBurnWorld is the same as GameCopyWorld; however, the copy protections section and tools were moved to CDMediaWorld.

Before GameCopyWorld, I was downloading NO-CD cracks from Megagames ( think that's the name). Nowadyas, only GameCopyWorld. However I only used these for Win 9x CD games, mainly because CD copy protection was rampant during the Win 9x era.

Thank You, have fun 😀 If you ever want to supply some of these DOS Patches, let me know. I would use xDelta to make sure no copyrighted material is being shared.

thanks good to know, GameCopyWorld is the superior site as it has older games so im glad its still working, GameBurnWorld didnt have as much and only had more recent stuff, also am i allowed to mention MyAbandonware for No-CD patches, those are my go-to top Three.
