I hope you get it running on the correct system soon - but for this p3 system I would say it is too temperamental for a card that needs the resources of 3 cards to operate fully...

Hello all!
in a couple of weeks (if all goes as planned) we will offer the very last batch of OrpheusII sound cards - in red pcb color to commemorate the occasion. Once these are made and sold they will consume all our CS/IW chips stock and there is currently no plans to make more of these. Both the full OrpheusII and the LT will move to the retired section - as usual support will continue to be provided for any card we made no matter how old.
If you want to be notified and enter the queue for this batch just fill the form found in the OrpheusII website.
Thanks to all the support you have given us over the years these Crystal-based cards were made possible and now recognizable as an excellent option for retropc gaming needs - but the time has come for this journey to end and another one to begin 😉

Oh cool, I just signed up earlier today. 😀
Right to repair is fundamental. You own it, you're allowed to fix it.

Orpheus II in a glorious Gravis red PCB? Yes, please! 😁
And very curious to see what you come up with next!
What is the difference between the X2GS and X2GS-SE? I think that the major difference of the X16GS is that it has selectable sound banks?
There is a lot of information on these products, and it is difficult for me to distill it all down.
As for the OrpheusII, would it be possible to use this last run to produce a batch with onboard memory in a smaller footprint? I love OrpheusII, but it is too wide for the case I want to use it in.

Time to bite the bullet and order one I guess 😅
Damn, us regular early supporters really get the short end of the stick every time! 😁
Just kidding of course, thanks again for all the stuff you do and can't wait to see what's next!

X2GS / X2GS-SE difference is the size - for all intents and purposes the 2 boards are the same
X16GS is using a high-end wt chip with up to 256 polyphony instead of the 80ish the X2 boards offer and ofcourse the 1GB flash memory
OrpheusII will remain unchanged - except for the color - it is already under production at the factory.

it is but a trick to make Orpheus enter the collectibles world!
color variations, availability, grading - all the nice stuff 🤣 🤣 🤣
Just offered an OII LT this week.
I don't mind to get another full OII version, especialy the red one~
Count me in please~~
I am definitely down to get a red one. Also I really need to pickup an X16GS as well.

Ahhh a red PCB! I don’t need another card, I don’t need another card….
On the X16GS: OK, this is weird!
I have the full size OrpheusII working really well with Serge’s Yucatan FX/Reptile Paradise WT board.
I got the X16GS in and interestingly, the OPL3 chip stops responding every time I try to play music through it. Couple notes, then locks the system. DOS, Win98, does not matter.
If I remove the WT board or put the Yucatan back on, everything works again.
How does the wavetable connector/board stop the Yamaha chip from working? You got me. I didn’t think there was any relation.
Too much power draw from the X16GS, perhaps?
Asus P5A, for what it’s worth. I know it is not the most legendarily stable board.

I have it with the x16gs and apart for all the trouble configuring it it works just fine...

I just tested the X16GS with an Orpheus II LT and had no problems. FM, digital audio and wavetable playback all work fine.
yeah there is no real connection I can think of that using the X16GS will make OPL3 stop working and using Yucatan is OK
it actually makes no sense tbh
it is true that the X16GS is the most power hugry wt board out there (also the most advanced) but it is not an issue with orpheus cards...
have you tested the X16GS with some other soundcard doogie?
Damn. I guess it's time for me to bite the bullet and nab one once the last batch goes up.. That will make a lovely replacement for the Vibra16 I have in my P233 MMX system.
I just hope I didn't come too late for the last batch 🤣
Proud owner of a Shuttle HOT-555A 430VX motherboard and two wonderful retro laptops, namely a Compaq Armada 1700 [nonfunctional] and a HP Omnibook XE3-GC [fully working :p]
Sent a message to get the red one... Hoping supplies last to get my second one 🙂
package from factory is expected to be received in the next few days - currently passed a transit station in Italy so it's close 😀
the demand far exceeds the number of cards that will be available from this batch though
so everyone in the queue that will not get a card now will have the option to pre-order a card by placing some deposit for it
this way we will make the exact orpheus2 card number needed and hopefully everyone will be happy in the end
never done a pre-order thing before but really do not want to over/undershoot and be left with chips/card stock or not enough cards
hope this makes sense
I have already green Orpheus II, red would be... I don't need one, I don't need one...
some stuff arrived 😁
Very nice!
When do we get to know if we get one of these first cards or have to put the deposit?
