Does anyone know if X-fi fatality edition bracket is compatible with sb live! card?
X-fi original cable won't fit but i could use standard ide cable instead.

Thanks.
So it seems that they are not indeed compatible 🙁.
And I think X-fi is not compatible with windows 98.

Get a Live! Drive IR and put on the faceplate of a X-Fi Drive.
Or get a Audigy 2 or 2ZS wich have the connector needed for X-Fi drives.

No it's not.
Audigy is the last with official driver support.
But there are are modified drivers for Audigy 2.
So the Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro is the last one you can use in Win98.

Both the regular Audigy 2 and the ZS version have Win98 drivers on the official install CD.

There is no need to make any modifications to get this working. Just pop the CD in and follow the instructions on the screen.

PC#1: Pentium MMX 166 / Soyo SY-5BT / S3 Trio64V+ / Voodoo1 / YMF719 / AWE64 Gold / SC-155
PC#2: AthlonXP 2100+ / ECS K7VTA3 / Voodoo3 / Audigy2 / Vortex2
PC#3: Athlon64 3400+ / Asus K8V-MX / 5900XT / Audigy2
PC#4: i5-3570K / MSI Z77A-G43 / GTX 970 / X-Fi

Oh really? I thought you'll need modified drivers.
Good to know.

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but what is the digital i/o card being referred to here? I can't find it anywhere. I found a CT4770 device but that doesn't look like it has optical out on it. I would love to find one of these simply for the optical out. If anyone has one that they are willing to sell then please contact me.

Thanks!

Try to find on Aliexpress or another shop "SPDIF out bracket", you will find something like this:

You must connect to pin 29, pin 30 and +5v on pin 1

Went through my box of stuff and came across this CT4770. Anyone tried this card? I'm guessing you just use a standard 40 pin ribbon cable to the Live card. I wonder if the midi out would work in DOS?
