Yeah, and since it's proprietary and replacements probably aren't available I have to try and fix it.

Trying to search for the part online (197416-001 from this listhttps://web.archive.org/web/19961226053531/ht … e1/pres800.html) show a few places which might still carry refurb stock.

That part number should help, I'll probably be taking my chances on Ebay though in the event the supply is irreparable. But I think the problem is likely something mundane (caps, fuse, maybe a transistor or other similar component) so it probably can be repaired.

Another card I've been after for awhile to the GPU collection!

Though I've been moving away from this era lately, the opportunity to snag another Triplex card couldn't be left untouched. It joins the GeForce3 Ti and GeForce2 - the Triplex Millennium Silver GeForce4 MX440 Dual Head!

That should go good with your black Aopen motherboard.

Where did you get all of that? I need to upgrade my Socket 7 system to a case with integrated speakers.

Dude, your hardware haul is amazing. The black PCB ASUS boards are a nice touch as well.

Stop being poor and you too can own things and be happy.

Great looking mainboard. I like the L2 cache soldered to the mainboard, mainboards of this size normally only have single bank L2 cache. Moreover the srams can't be stolen so easily! 😁

Nice stuff on the previous page!

As it is advisable to spend more time indoors due to recent circumstances I too decided to make the best of this opportunity and perform some upgrades for my PS/2 Model 55SX (kidding..)

New BIOS chips for my "Old Spock" e. g. IBM SCSI w/cache adapter to enable support beyond 1GB and, proprietary SIMMs for upgrading to 2MB cache.

iIjz5PSh.jpg?1

Terminator to the internal 50-pin card-edge. This truly was a difficult part to find (or then I looked in all the wrong places..)

vQCBlWth.jpg

I knew Reply had some complete planar (mainboard) upgrade kits for Model 55SX but, as CPU is soldered to the board, I assume not many CPU upgrade kits were ever made for this specific model. However, apparently at least this one made by IBM existed, though.

Mathco can be added but it needs to be a 33Mhz variant.

Some non-IBM stuff..This is a NOS Tekram(?) cache controller card.

.WAVjammer PCMCIA sound card (sealed)..what I've read it's decent.

Would you be kind enough to image that 486 upgrade disk and possibly the manual?
