Yes its nylon, it was the only option for SLS printing.
I couldnt decide if i should use SLS or SLA printing. But now i am happy i got a SLS print because the structure looks really good and close to PC parts.
And the parts were only around 8 Euros each. Superb quality, no dirt at home, no material buying, no printer cleaning for 8 Euros... I´ll take 2 😁

This looks like an SLS print. You won't see this kind of high quality from a consumer FDM printer.

The only thing better, besides injection molding, is SLA printing. SLA is very messy though and uses an expensive, toxic resin that needs to be cured. SLS needs only a dry powder, a laser, and compressed air afterwards to clean.

I changed the water pump to my recently built watercooled Socket A system. I installed my old wc gear to the system and the pump was from late 2001-early 2002, a Sicce Nova aquarium pump, and I used it till I got A64 winchester in autumn 2004. When I tested it, it sounded a bit crunchy at first, but then started to operate normally. I knew that it probably won’t last long, but figured that it might have quite a bit left considering how little it probably gets hours in retro use.

Well, I installed the system and last friday I had it on for a longer time and played some games. Saturday the old geezer didn’t turn on anymore. Today I got a small Eheim pump from aquarium shop and now system is usable again.

I also found out that I need to flash bios to my EpoX 8rga+ which is running in that system, so I can use Barton (I now have T-bredB @2200MHz). Board has some early BIOS which doesn’t support Barton, so it doesn’t even post with one. I had one CPU earlier and I just thought that it is dead. Today I tried second CPU and it was the same. I checked EpoX site from wayback machine and support for Barton’s was indeed released few months after the board became available.

Just confirmed the S3 Trio64V2/DX 2MB I got from e-waste for NT$100 was not functioning. It was very clean and had a sticker from an used computer store I knew and visited so I gave it a chance; tried it on two of my working motherboards but neither could POST.

I wonder if those RAM chips are still good for a socketed 1MB card I have.

Even the extremely yellowed HP CD Burner starts co come back to normal.
It needs about 3 to 4 more days of sun... but the sun is gone for a week now 😀

This AT Tower was so disgusting i never wanted to build in it.
Now its so nice and less yellow. And i have retrofitted a MHz display (wich needs a cover now).

All the mice turned out great. Most of the yellow is gone.
All the CD drives are way better.

All in all i would totally recommend sun brighting if you have time or dont want to use chemicals that destroys stickers...

I can't be sure if I did something wrong, or if the CPU was dead before I started, or if neither board can POST with a Tualatin without BIOS support. I think I'm going to buy one of his CPUs that has the modification already done and see how that turns out.

The modded Tualatin arrived today and I tried it in my Tyan S1854, it POSTed with no issue, and the board even recognized the correct speed, so that was nice.

I installed Windows 7 on a K6-2/550.

Ok... except for the cleaning 😁

So I installed Windows XP on my Athlon 64 (Finally!) and it's been working great so far. The GeForce 4 MX, although it "worked" with directx, was crappy (as 4 MXs tend to be), so I installed a 256MB AGP (listed as PCI by the ebay seller, but is actually AGP, 🤣, but I had an AGP slot thankfully so it didn't matter) GeForce 6200 (no brand or model number though, hmm, just a generic 6200...), and installed the latest supported XP 6200 driver, and...
Whenever the PC does 3D in stuff like 3DMark or Oblivion, it freezes. The entire PC just locks up.
I tried a different driver version (9x.x...) and got the same issue. Otherwise, other hardware acceleration works just fine; 3D Windows screensavers run fine, the Direct3D test in dxdiag runs fine, etc.
So I think the problem might be that say 3DMark is putting too much stress on the GPU and causes it to overheat or something? I'm not sure.

UPDATE: Happens with Rayman 2 as well.

Geforce 4MX 440 and 460 aren't bad at all, although they are a slow option for A64 for gaming. They are essentially tweaked Geforce 2 dies and comparable to Geforce 2 Ti/Ultra or even better. MX4 420 was a different matter, though, and more on par with old GF2 MX400. Although faster, that 6200 is still awfully slow gaming card.

I don't know about A64 systems, but 6-series had some compatibility issues with VIA and SIS chipsets and Socket A CPUs, which could cause freezes, reboots and graphics artefacts. One simple thing to check out is the thermal adhesive on the card. It may have lost thermal conductivity and your GPU overheats. Other problems may include bad caps on the card and GPU and/or memory doesn't get correct voltages.

You've had so many difficulties with this setup that I can't help but suspect that there is some underlying hardware issue. Advice is free and worth twice the price - mine would be to strip the system down to bare essentials and check it with Memtest 86.

OS: Windows XP.
Games: early to mid 2000s games, ranging from The Sims 1 to Half Life 2 or TES4, and maybe even Crysis at low settings.
Preferred price: For a lightly used early 2000s GPU I'd expect to pay no more than 50 dollars.

EDIT: no *more*, not no less. Oops.

Half-Life 2 will depend on what you're willing to settle for. My 939 system has a 4400+ overclocked to 4800+ levels, and with my 6800 Ultra it still bogs down even at 1024x768 and the details turned down. Then there's the Socket 775 Dell Vostro I rescued from the curb combined with the GTS250 I got for free - it handles Half-Life 2 so well that I feel like a fool spending money on older hardware. But then I get over it because I enjoy fooling with old hardware, and getting it to run as well as it possibly can.

Also, wait.
I wonder if the freezes might actually be because I have an SB Live connected. I heard the chipset hates PCI SoundBlasters, though I had the SB Live connected before the 6200 and the PC didn't freeze *until* I installed drivers for the 6200, so it might just be a coincidence.

I guess I can settle for 800x600 with low to mid settings. Either version of HL2 (2004 or TOB) is fine, by the way, but I expect to run 2004 HL2 better.

EDIT: By the way, is there a site that documents GPU benchmarks and average FPS values for games and specific settings, for specific old GPUs?
