Thanks for the info, interesting, I have a 9600XT with a Zalman cooler (don't remember the brand) that I'm yet to check out, curious to see the performance difference vs. the 9600 Pro
If You get something like 550 GPU& 350 VRAM, you will be pleasantly surprised.
It`s almost Radeon 9700 (~4500 mark at 3Dmark03)
Will keep that in mind, excellent tips, thank you!

Cool that they even exist, could you point me out to some models so I can check it out anyway?

But, the thing is, should I overclock?
If you already have a XP build then there's no reason to in my view. IMO you just need a card that brings you up to 2003ish games with good performance and after that point XP can take over, hence my emphasis on the 9600 Radeon. A point that you should maybe develop is what games you intend to play with this build as opposed to the XP build. If you have sequential periods with your builds you can pretty much stick to it, if not you can compress some in one overpowered PC to make up for it, like Win98SE and XP, or XP and 7, etc.
For example, before I built my Tualatin PC at the time I was lacking true reasons to do so. So I decided to build it on the premise to experience WinME and use it as a bridge between my Win98SE and XP builds, stopping at 2003 or around that. Two years later now I can say that I just won't play Max Payne 1 and 2, Mafia, GTA III and Vice City, etc. on any other build, it just feels different and very from its time, and WinME helps a lot with that. There's a particular optimism that oozes from it and it just feels smoother than Win98SE ever did, even though the latter will always be "home" for me.
As someone that tries to put to use the most hardware possible that I have I appreciate the fact that you're playing around with possibilities with what you have lying around, which is good stuff in any case
