How does XP run with the six cores. Does it ignore five of them?

All XP versions will run as many cores as you have, if you use more than one physical CPU I believe you need to get the enterprise version.
XP home can use 1 cpu socket with multiple cores and XP pro can use 2 cpu sockets with upto 32 cores for 32bit and upto 64 cores with XP 64

One core limitation is for 98, XP can use up to 32 cores.
Socket 775 - ASRock 4CoreDual-VSTA, Pentium E6500K, 4GB RAM, Radeon 9800XT, ESS Solo-1, Win 98/XP
Socket A - Chaintech CT-7AIA, AMD Athlon XP 2400+, 1GB RAM, Radeon 9600XT, ESS ES1869F, Win 98
Thanks for the replies.
And on the topic does XP ignore 8gb out of 12gb of ram then? Or does the 12gb of ram cause problems for XP?
I'm considering a similar build for myself.
With 32 bit addressing it shouldn't matter if you have more than 4gigs since it can't address it

It's the same, like with 98 and multi core CPUs. XP just ignores anything above 4GB. I have dualboot XP/7 on my laptop with 12GB of RAM, and XP just see and can use only 4GB. There's no problems with excess amount of RAM in XP.

It sees all 6 cores and 12 threads
As for ram, xp only sees 2gb's while 7 sees all 12gb's
Have you had any compatibility issues with early 2000s games?

Only game so far was Planet of the Apes 2001, graphic issues.
That game runs fine on my 98 rig.
I threw a USB 3 card in here and took out the wifi card as it didn't support XP so I'm just using a USB one now. Now the front panel usb ports run at USB 3 speeds. Also threw quite a few more games on XP and 7.
I was able to get the leaked build of Windows 11 to run on here.
Sweet. How does it run?

Is there an advantage running a I7 980X over say a Xeon X5675?

On this machine, very much, this board doesn't support Westmere Xeons period, I tried everything I could think of to get my W3680 to work and in the end, I ended up using a 980x.
Now if this was any other X58 board, then no.
I also tried the version of 11 that was released today, it still works.
