I received my package today and I'm having some mixed feelings. Most stuff looks good, some look like that have been laying in the rain.

First up: two little Lan cards, one BNC, one rj35. The latter may become in handy.
And the Yamaha YMF719E-S based sound card. No atapi, but I think it's a nice find 😀

Second: few nice controllers. 16b SCSI / floppy combo, 8b SCSI "floptical"(?) Controller and some generic VLB dual IDE I/o card. Not sure is the second one drivers hard disks, but it's nice 😀

Next up: graphics. Three times PCI: Triedent TGUI 9440-3 1MB, Avance Logic ALI2301A 1MB and ATI Rage II DVD, 4MB I guess. The ATI may find it's way into something that lacks video ram 😀

Fourth: two rusty mehs and a crispy 286 daughter board (motherboard on the back side).

Front of the 286board from prev picture, lots of crisp!!! Hehe, what a mess...
Next to it another 286 board with all plastic simm slots. Looks ok from above, but it's bent... Gonna need testing.

Even if half of them won't work, it's still €27 well spent (shipping included)

"Small" wonder box arrived. Actually its not a small but a big wonder! Great stuff in good condition inside...!

I will start with the full length cards. Ever seen a more beautiful graphics card...? This is a TSENG ET2000 EGA with some composite decoder (?) on the fetaure connector and RAM expansion (?) ...

That is a gorgeous case!

So I managed to pick up an optical PS/2 Mouse. Yeah, that's totally why I'm posting in this thread.

As you can probably tell, these are the actual reasons I'm posting. I managed to snag myself a Diamond Viper 770, which seems to be in good condition, even if the picture that comes out of it is incredibly dull, and has odd horizontal smearing.

I also managed to find an Asus Geforce 2 Pro. This one actually does have a fan, and a proper header. If you're wondering why the picture has the heatsink being off, it's because the paste was as fresh as the card.

I also managed to fins an Intel Pro 100/1000 G NIC, which I plan on using in my general purpose 98 machine. I don't know what I will be doing, but it will certainly be something.

Not today, but within the past week or two.

And yes, the Lexmark one is buckling spring, not to worry. That Lexmark one was a local pickup (5 minute drive, not bad!) and was in fantastic condition. Apparently had sat in the guy's basement for 20 years unused. All of the plastic rivets are still intact. The other one (with the grey IBM logo) was really filthy when I got it. Also, as expected with keyboards that saw lots of use, there was lots of random bits of dirt, hair, and other gunk lodged under the keys (including paper clips, 🤣). But it cleaned up real nice. Some plastic rivets are missing, but it's not in need of a bolt mod yet. Probably will be a while before that becomes necessary. Both keyboards feel great to type on. 😀

I don't need any more PCs, but this one grabbed me with its combination of affordable price and distinctive case. Plus hey, it's Socket A and I love Socket A.

I know, right? I'll have to take some photos of this set up next to my "Bondi Blue" iMac G3 when I get it.

Stopped at a local Thrift store and they had a TIVO, have bought a few from them for $10-15 each over the last year, mostly the Roamio models (for the 500GB or 1TB sata drives in the Roamio) but this time they had an original TIVO series 2. Came in original box with all padding, cords, manuals, etc for $10.
And good news ! an 80GB WD 7200rpm PATA drive inside. Hooked it up and ran some tests, which came back excellent and only 3422 hours on the drive. Not bad for the price 😀 ok so 2009 is not retro but the HD can be used on a lot of retro hardware ! I used my P4 box to run the tests.

That's how i got my stockpile of new (ish) hard drives. I did some "freelance" work for a subcontractor to one of the largest internet/tv providers. They had a large number of "defective" units that needed proper disposal.

All told I ended up with ~50 320gb and ~30 1tb sata drives.

I wonder if they need more work done...

Nice ! 🤣. Glad you saved them. Am guessing some of those drives have very little hours ! And bet others were very well used ;p Was suprised to get a couple 500Gb from 2015 when one had only 1500hrs but the next had 18,500hrs back a few months ago. It is amazing to find older drives that have less than a average years worth of use. Wonder how many good old drives are destroyed by recyclers every day just because they have data and is easier to hammer them then wipe them....

Actually that 8bit scsi card is nearly same as a Rancho RT1000 Value Stor (same FCC ID) except missing the IRQ jumpers and the Term parts for the missing Ext connector. The NCR53c400 series was used on quite a few very early 90's XT/AT scsi controllers for HD or Cdrom. J6-J9 are the IRQ, J1-J4 are the BIOS address. It supports bothe HD and Cdroms with the proper BIOS (yours may actually support them both too). Here is a pic of one that works very well and is same as yours but the full card. They work great to add a scsi HD or cdrom to an XT/AT and still stay somewhat period correct. Save that card or offer it to me 😀
added: the label on the BIOS looks like 1999 but is 1993...

Ofc I'm gonna test it, I think I might have an old quantum SCSI 80MB drive somewhere. Since the original hard disk in my Philips P3105 is near dead (Miniscribe 8425X with 30% bad sectors, growing) this could be a nice replacement 😀
