I was doing some lurking for a particular soundcard ( Aztech PCI 368-DSP) and found a bunch of emails contained in one of the device driver versions.
I had this soundcard back in the day and have only just recently found one again.

Has anyone else discovered such things in device drivers? I don't know why it would be in there!

Some interesting discussion contained within tbird128.vxd..
The corporate trail did lead me to the Wayback machine and then to the outsourced development company "Singing Electrons Inc." who developed the Win9X and NT drivers.
I would have throught that a large company like VLSI would be doing their own driver development...

From driver package win9xeng130.zip

That's... hilarious! If this was more technical discussing decisions and solutions I'd think that someone was trying to cover his ass by including the correspondence. But it's the common useless middle management chat pretending to be work, so my money is on a mistake

It was quite surprising... it just seemed to be a bunch of corporate emails thrown into the vxd. I wonder if they were trying to make the file bigger??

More contained in the tbird128.vxd. Driver attached, but removed the tbird128.dls to save space

Anyway, really amusing. I found all the guys mentioned in the emails on LinkedIn

I wonder what it's like to be "one of the world's leading authorities on Windows audio drivers and driver architecture"...

If it wasn't so weird and a little creepy to get some random message from a stranger, I'd ask him on LinkedIn... and maybe why the NT drivers were left only partially functional?....
