There was only 1 option, no more, no less. I had damaged items shipped by FedEx or UPS in the past, which I got mad about that and decided to check the listing to make sure they ship with other options. Last time I bought something on eBay that shipped via FedEx, it delivered to my house without any damage as I normally ask every seller.

Meh.. I would rather have Fedex Ground than USPS Parcel Select.

Parcel Select is 2-9 days. Fedex Ground is 3-5 days.

Then again, I usually only use Fedex when I am shipping something too large to ship USPS... or if it is heavy and won't fit in a flat rate box since Fedex will be cheaper that way.

At least 99% of my stuff gets shipped USPS though. I also package my stuff well enough to not get damaged even if dropped from the roof of a 3+ story building. 🤣

The item isn't heavy or too large to ship. I would be surprised if the package goes directly to USPS, or I can contact FedEx and ask them if I can get it transferred to USPS. Sorry for the rants and the off-topic discussion.

The Powermac G5: https://www.macstories.net/mac/the-mighty-power-mac-g5/
Thing was a freakin' piece of art. It's too bad so many of the hot ones were water-cooled and leaked, it can be hard to find a dual 2.7GHz or quad 2.5GHz.

I know the G5. I was irritated as arncht referred to a post commenting on a G4 and stated he liked the alloy version more, which we all know there is none. The G5 (in this context) is not a "version" of the G4 rather than an entire new product.

OK, it's a Power Mac G4 Quicksilver (933 MHz, DVD, GF4 MX, 256 MB RAM upgraded to 768 MB, 60 GB HDD) in immaculate optical condition. It even has the protective stickers on the drive bays. A little dusty on the inside but that's to be expected. Works great with MacOS 9.2.2. Seller was so kind to provide the original set of system disks and the power chord. Definitely one of the best looking systems in my opinion. Not bad for 20 bucks.

Not an Apple fan, BUT a good deal regardless. You're right, that's in great shape.

Speaking of Apple design. I think the PowerPC design from the mid-90's are were Apple made the most awesomme design. Like model 61xx, 52xx and 72xx model's. Especially the pizzabox 61xx machines. Anyway... I like the design of those machines. What is inside is of less interest to me. I am simply not an Apple guy. The Cube is not bad designed eighter. Or the model that looks like one of those architect lamps. That is a beautifull design, yet not as good looking as those 52xx/61xx/72xx machines.

sorry, i am not a native speaker - they also use "alloy" for aluminum alloy bike parts. what is the difference?
basically most of the aluminum is an aluminum alloy, they never use 100% aluminum.

You are right, virtually all the metals (not just aliminum) in use for anything around, are alloys.

Nevertheless, "aluminum" is much more common in daily use compared to "alloy" 😊

I see absolutely nothing wrong with a computer looking like a futuristic beer cooler and it even has convenient carry handles on both sides so your drinking buddy can help you lift it. Too bad I don't drink or I'd probably get one.

I like the Power Macs 9600 and 9500, but the enclosure is very plasticy and they discolorate like a white Englishman baking in the Spanish sun 😵

Awww. Is it possible to remove (what looks like) the AC/heat panel up to where the radio goes, cut the plastic harness and scooch it in behind the gearshift?

Not to mention that plastic gets brittle as rotten paper,, one wrong move and crack you can bring out the MEK

Yup. The downside to any early to mid-90's plastic. And some of the 80's as well. But what can one do? They were only designed to last 12 moth's max, because things moved so quickly. I saw an interview with Greg Berlin the other day, in were he explained that we was happy to see that people still use the Amiga4000, wich he designed most of. He was asked if he had anything prototypish left from those years, and he explained that he might have a box with a few cards somewere in the garage or in the basement or something. And he explained that it never thought that these machines would be running after all these years. He said that back in the early 90's, things just moved so quickly that they thought computers would only last some 6/12 month's before they should be replaced.

It is this interview. Really awesomme dude, that I want to meet at some point.
