VOGONS

I am currently playing Codename Outbreak from GOG on Win7. By default, it has issues with texture transparency which make it hideous to play. With dgVoodoo 2.53, the problem is gone and it is enjoyable to play. However, the intro movies only play the sound on a black screen and video sequences embedded into the GUI (as in, the weapon previews in the loadout menu) do not display at all. All those videos are AVIs, codec info from MPC: Video: IV50 640x480 25fps 1755kbps [V: indeo5, yuv410p, 640x480, 1755 kb/s]. MPC displays the videos properly.

Any help is appreciated.

Probably the video playback is done through GDI-rendering which results in black screen. It's a known issue.
Do movies appear in windowed mode?

Both the intro and the embedded videos display in windowed mode. Ouch.

Excuse my noobness, may somekind of borderless windowed mode help? If not, some other fix would be really, really great 😀

By decreasing the resolution from 1600x1200 to 1280x960 I could get proper non-stretching GPU-scaling with black bars on the side of my 1080p-display via the nvidia-controlpanel to work. Before, 1600x1200 was stretched across the whole screen without me really noticing. Now, the embedded videos in the loadout screen show up, but still not the intro ones. Oh well... the ingame ones were more important, so I am pretty happy right now 😀
