Dipped into industrial tech, got burned.

But the premise... I couldn't resist.

It's a t!ny board with dual Gbit NICs, PCIe x16, 4 SATA ports, RAID ready (supposedly), but no drivers on hand.

Please, be so k!nd, help me to get through this.

Is this the board: http://www.ieishop.com/data/KINO-9654G4_KINO-9454-R20.pdf
Did not find anything about BIOS but here are some files according to the pdf.

Let me explain, when I change the CPU, it complains about some kind of incompatibility. showing incorrect frequency, etc.

So I figured, hey, there's gotta be a BIOS update to support future CPUs.

I should probably make a picture, really.

C2D 6400 runs fine.

Spoiler

Pentium E5700 doesn't run.

Neither does E6800.

What gives?

Obviously, board is freaking out, I lose my boot drive.

A bios upgrade may help, your BIOS is dated January 2008. Both E5700 and E6800 are FC-LGA8 from mid 2010 and called "Pentium Dual-Core" where E6400 is FC-LGA6 from 2006 and is Core 2 Duo.
Here is the IIEI Tech website with BIOS, last one was Nov. 2009. https://download.ieiworld.com/ (and enter Kino-9454, gives 15 results)
The last manual states CPU support:
KINO-9454 Mini-ITX SBC
2.4 CPU Support
Table-2-1 lists the CPUs supported by the KINO-9454 board.
Model Clock Speed L2 Cache Max. FSB Socket
Intel® Core 2 Duo 1.06 to 2.13GHz 2MB to 4MB 1066MHz LGA775
Intel® Pentium® D 2.80 to 3.60GHz 1MB to 2MB 1066MHz LGA775
Intel® Pentium® 4 2.66 to 3.80GHz 1MB to 2MB 800MHz LGA775

What the hay?!

I've been on that website, and couldn't find anything, not to come off as incredibly lame.

Except, there is a small problem.

It says KINO-9454-R10, mine is R20.

Only way to find out.

Got lots more CPUs on hand, but obviously, they wouldn't work due to FSB or just lower frequencies in general.

As in, I'm not just shoving random ones in it.

Do you have a good picture of your board ? Inside the KINO-9454-R10_MR27.zip the text says: 'E029 Ver R2.7 (2008/01/14)' just like your screen, it also says: BIOS only use in E029 M/B 2.0.

Yeah, my initial guess was spot on, BIOS update is what I really needed.

Even Pentium E6800 is working now, no warnings and all.

Big thanks to Horun.

Great ! Did you go with the latest Bios 3.1 ? Can you post a picture of your new boot up screen please ? Just so others who may stumble on this searching for help 😁
Thanks !
